Categories enriched over the Lawvere quantale L have been studied as generalized metric spaces. In this paper, we consider the monoidal category W(L) of Witt vectors in L and explore some basic properties of categories enriched over it. We also construct a monoidal functor from L to W(L), which induces a fully faithful functor from the category of L-enriched categories to that of W(L)-enriched categories, and investigate the relationship between them.
